Augusta In Third At Lady Boilermaker After 36 Holes

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – The Augusta University women's golf team opened play in its final regular-season tournament at the Lady Boilermaker on Saturday. The Jaguars are in third place at 24-over-par after 36 holes at Ackerman-Allen Golf Course.

 

 

Hosted by Purdue, the Lady Boilermaker features a small six-team field competing two-days on the par-72, 6,247-yard course. The field was split off holes one and 10 with tee times beginning at 8:00 a.m. Each team started six individuals and the top four scores count.

 

Texas Tech shot 4-under-par in round one and had a 13-stroke lead heading into the second round. They lead at 2-over-par, while No. 21 Purdue is second (+13), Augusta third (+24), Northern Illinois fourth (+25), Butler fifth (+42), and Ball state sixth (+53).

 

The Jaguar shot 14-over-par (302) in round one and 298 in the second to take third out of six. Junior Maggie Ashmore is tied for 10th (+6) to lead Augusta, while freshman Teresa Diez-Moliner is tied for 13th (+7) and junior Cecilia Diez-Moliner, sophomore Linda Lundqvist, and freshman Nicole Page are each tied for 15th (+9). Sophomore Charlotte Alran rounded out AU and is in 21st place.

 

Round three will end the tournament on Sunday, April 15 with tee times 8:00 a.m.
