Jags Tied For Ninth At Lady Paladin Invitational

GREENVILLE, S.C. – The Augusta University women's golf team opened play in their second event of the fall season on Friday at the Lady Paladin Invitational and the Jaguars are tied for ninth place with Chattanooga after shooting 303 (+15) in round one at Furman University Golf Club.

 

 

Augusta returned to the Lady Paladin Invitational for the second straight season and the fourth time in the last seven years. The 17-team field began on Friday with tee times beginning at 9:00 a.m. and Daytona State leads the event 4-under par.

 

The Jaguars teed off on the back nine and were led by freshman Teresa Diez-Moliner. In only her second collegiate event, T. Diez-Moliner fired a 1-over 73 with three birdies and is tied for 14th. Senior Maggie Ashmore turned in a 75 (+3) to take a tie for 23rd after day one and junior Cecilia Diez-Moliner marked a 76 (+4) to sneak inside the top 40 with a tie for 36th.

 

Sophomore Linda Lundqvist sits in 62nd (+7) and sophomore Charlotte Alran is tied for 81st (+10).

 

Teams continue play with round two on Saturday, Sept. 23 with tee times starting at 9:00 a.m.
