Nyqvist Named WGCA All-American Scholar

CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. – The Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) All-American Scholars were announced on Wednesday, July 5 with a total of 952 women's collegiate golfers recognized and Augusta University senior Josefine Nyqvist represents the Jaguars.

 

The criteria for selection to the WGCA All-American Scholar Team are some of the most stringent in all of college athletics. The minimum cumulative GPA is 3.50.

 

A four-year starter from Stockholm, Sweden, Nyqvist competed in 28 rounds and 10 tournaments in her senior season. She posted a 75.08 scoring average with 59 birdies and recorded six top-25 finishes and two top 10s.

 

Her best finish was seventh at the Greenville Regional Preview and her low round was a 70. She helped Augusta earn an NCAA Regional at-large bid for the fourth time of her career.

 

The Women's Golf Coaches Association, founded in 1983, is a non-profit organization representing women's collegiate golf coaches. The WGCA was formed to encourage the playing of college golf for women in correlation with a general objective of education and in accordance with the highest tradition of intercollegiate competition. Today, the WGCA represents over 600 coaches throughout the U.S. and is dedicated to educating, promoting and recognizing both its members and the student-athletes they represent.
