AUGUSTA, Ga. – The Augusta University women's golf team wrapped its 2016-17 season after making a run in the NCAA Regional Championships. The season featured 11 Division-I tournaments across the nation and culminated in the program's seventh trip to the NCAA Tournament.
Augusta was ranked as high as No. 42 in the nation and finished top 10 in all but one event in 2016-17. The Jaguars were top five in four of the five fall events and were top 10 in five of the six spring events.
Augusta was one of 72 teams in the nation to be selected to the NCAA Regional. The selection for Augusta was the seventh in the 16-year history of the program and marked the second-straight trip for Augusta head coach Caroline Hegg in her second season at the helm of the program.

2016-17 AUGUSTA LINEUP
AS A FRESHMAN IN 2016-17: Played in 18 rounds and six tournaments … Led Augusta in a tie for 30th in her first collegiate tournament at the Lady Puerto Rico Classic and at the NCAA Athens Regional … Had the second best scoring average on the team with a 74.83 mark … Notched 54 birdies and hit 90 percent of her fairways … Low round was a 73 (4x) … Helped Augusta earn an NCAA Regional at-large bid.
AS A JUNIOR IN 2016-17: Logged play in 14 rounds on the season and posted a 75.57 scoring average … Played as an individual in four tournaments and competed in the starting five once at the Central District Invitational … Competed in five tournaments … Best finish was 35th at the 3M Augusta Invitational … Low round was a 73 … Helped Augusta earn an NCAA Regional at-large bid.
AS A JUNIOR IN 2016-17: Played in two tournaments and six rounds on the year … Had a 78.67 scoring average … Low round was a 74 at the Lady Paladin Invitational … Best finish was a tie for 71st at the Jags' home event in the 3M Augusta Invitational … Helped Augusta earn an NCAA Regional at-large bid.
AS A SOPHOMORE IN 2016-17: Played in 23 rounds and eight events … Low finish was 17th at the Red Raider Invitational … Low score was a 72 (2x) … Recorded 53 birdies and a 76.41 scoring average … Helped Augusta earn an NCAA Regional at-large bid.
AS A SENIOR IN 2016-17: Named the Female Athlete of the Year at the Augusta Athletics Awards Banquet … Won the 3M Augusta Invitational and set a new tournament record for low score … Played in all 32 rounds and 11 events … Led Augusta with a 74.41 scoring average … Had a team best 84 birdies … Low round was a 66 at the 3MAI … Had seven top-25 finishes and three in the top 10 … Helped Augusta earn an NCAA Regional at-large bid.
AS A FRESHMAN IN 2016-17: Nominated for the Female Athlete of the Year at the William Sherrill Augusta Athletics Awards Banquet … Played in 32 rounds and all 11 tournaments for Augusta … Recorded a 76.16 scoring average with 70 birdies … Best finishes was a tie for ninth to lead the Jags at the Louisville Fall Kickoff ... Helped Augusta earn an NCAA Regional at-large bid.
AS A SENIOR IN 2016-17: Competed in 28 rounds and 10 tournaments … Posted a 75.08 scoring average and 59 birdies … Posted six top-25 finishes and two top 10s … Best finish was seventh at the Greenville Regional Preview … Low round was a 70 … Helped Augusta earn an NCAA Regional at-large bid.
