Jags In 10th After 36 Holes In Puerto Rico

Augusta competing at Lady Puerto Rico Classic hosted by Purdue

RIO GRANDE, Puerto Rico – The Augusta Jaguars head into the third and final round of the Lady Puerto Rico Classic in 10th place after shooting a 299 (+11) in round two on Monday afternoon.

No. 8 Arkansas leads the 15-team field by seven strokes at six-under par on the par-72, 6,203-yard course in Purdue University's home event. No. 5 Georgia is second (+1), No. 25 Texas Tech third (+7), No. 18 Iowa State fourth (+9), and No. 6 Northwestern rounds out the top five teams.

The Jags are in 10th at 19-shots over par. The team fired an eight-over 296 in round one and a 299 (+11) on Monday.

Junior Jessica Haigwood turned in the low round of the event for Augusta with an even-par 72 in round two to earn 11th place.

Carding her second 74 (+2) of the tourney, Augusta junior Eunice Yi is in 19th and junior Teresa Caballer Hernani is in 40th after shooting a 73 (+1) in round one and 77 (+5) in her second round.

Junior Josefine Nyqvist carded her second-straight 76 (+4) and is in 48th place, while sophomore Sonya Knebel is tied for 79th with an 82 (+10) in round two.

Teams complete the tourney with round three on Tuesday, Feb. 16.
