Jags Sit Seventh After 36 Holes At UCF Challenge

ORLANDO, Fla. – The Augusta Jaguars competed in round two of the UCF Challenge on Monday and shaved five strokes from their overall team score to sit in seventh place 21-over par. Junior Josefine Nyqvist carded the low round of her career with a 68 (-4) and is in third place overall at Eagle Creek Golf Club.

The Jaguars shot 296 (+8) as a team after scoring a 13-over 301 in round one. No. 25 Missouri, who Augusta was tied for third with on Monday, improved by 18 strokes and leads the 18-team event at eight-over par. Tulane is close behind in second at plus 11.

Augusta's Nyqvist surpassed her previous low round of 70 with five birdies on the score card in round two on the par-72 course. Nyqvist is third overall, while junior Eunice Yi had a one-stroke improvement from day one with a 74 (+2) to sit in a tie for 22nd.

Sophomore Sonya Knebel carded a five-over 77 and is in 40th place. Junior Jessica Haigwood is tied for 51st with a round-two 77 (+5) and sophomore Lexi Bollant tied for 86th by also shooting 77.

Augusta wraps up the third and final round of the UCF Challenge on Tuesday, Feb. 9 with 18 holes.
