AUGUSTA, Ga. – The No. 35 GRU Augusta women's golf team will host the eighth annual 3M Jaguar Intercollegiate from March 13-15 at Forest Hills Golf Club in Augusta, Ga.
The 2015 3M Jaguar Intercollegiate will be the tournament's eighth-annual event at Forest Hills Golf Club and will feature 13 Division I teams. Since its beginning in 2006, the Jaguar Intercollegiate has maintained a reputation of drawing nationally prominent teams and players to Augusta for one of Division I golf's top events. The tournament dates were moved from the fall to the spring for the 2009-10 season, where it has remained to this day.
This year's event is a three-day tourney and round one begins on Friday, March 13 with tee times going off one and ten from 9:30 – 11:50 a.m. Round two on Saturday is the same format as the first round and round three on Sunday will be a shotgun format beginning at 9:00 a.m.
Six of the past seven individual champions to win the tournament are playing professionally. The Jaguars have taken home individual medalist honors twice. Casey Kennedy won the 2011 Jaguar Intercollegiate while the Jags still competed as Augusta State University and Amanda Smith won in 2006 under ASU. The Jaguars finished runnerup in 2006, 2007, 2010, 2011, and 2012.
