GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The GRU Augusta women's golf team, ranked 35th in the nation according to Golfstat.com, will compete in their second tournament of 2015 at the SunTrust Gator Women's Golf Invitational from March 6-8 at the Mark Bostick Golf Course in Gainesville, Fla.
The Jags square off against seven schools ranked in the top 40 in the nation this weekend. Hosted by the University of Florida, the 2015 SunTrust Gator Women's Golf Invitational will be the tournament's 43rd-annual event. Since its beginning in 1973, the Gator Women's Golf Invitational has consistently drawn quality teams and players to Gainesville. As a result, several prominent golfers appear in the Gator Women's Golf Invitational records, including three players who went on to earn Rolex Player of the Year honors on the LPGA Tour: Nancy Lopez, Pat Bradley and Betsy King.
The tournament is slated for tee times off one and ten in the first and second round, and a final round shotgun start will conclude the event on the 6,701-yard, par-70 course.
