AU Gives Up Halftime Lead In 63-55 Loss At USC Aiken

AIKEN, S.C. – The Augusta University women's basketball team lost a 10 point halftime lead and dropped a 63-55 Peach Belt Conference road game at rival USC Aiken Wednesday night in the Convocation Center.

Three Jaguars scored in double figures. Senior Kaela Patrick paced the team with 12 points, freshman Jaelyn Autman added 11 points and five rebounds off the bench, and junior Cameryn Wilson scored 10 points and posted a pair of rebounds and steals for the Jags. AU senior Brianna Middleton grabbed 11 rebounds and added two points as well.

 

Augusta led 35-25 at halftime and hit six field goals and five from behind the arc in the first half. After leading by 16 with 6:00 minutes to go in the second period, the Jags went 1-for-12 from field-goal range in the third period and USCA took over for the win. USCA outrebounded Augusta by 20 and outscored the Jags by 10 in the paint and by eight on second-chance points.

 

AU plays its final regular-season game of the season on Saturday, March 2 at Lander in Greenwood, S.C. The game tips off at 3:30 p.m.
