Jags Pounce On Bobcats In 78-55 Win

MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – The Augusta University women's basketball team met the Georgia College Bobcats for a Peach Belt Conference road game on Saturday afternoon and won easily in a 78-55 matchup.

Freshman Asia Harrison turned in 12 first-half points and finished with 26 points – hitting six three pointers for Augusta. Jaguar junior Cameryn Wilson added 12 points and senior Brianna Middleton carded 10 points and nine rebounds.

 

AU went into the halftime locker room on top 41-28, behind five early three pointers. Augusta was up by 20 towards the close of the third quarter and carried a 55-37 lead into the final 10 minutes of play. Augusta cruised in the fourth period for the big road win.

 

The Jaguars outrebounded the Bobcats 46-35 and scored 34 points in the paint, while holding GC to 16 points down low.

 

Augusta plays at Clayton State in Morrow, Ga., on Monday, Feb. 18 at 5:30 p.m. in The Loch.
