Jaguars Upended At UNC Pembroke, 68-48

PEMBROKE, N.C. – The Augusta University women's basketball team played the UNC Pembroke Braves on Wednesday night and fell 68-48 at the English E. Jones Center.

In the first meeting between the Jaguars and Braves, Augusta pulled out a 64-59 overtime win at home, but the Braves avenged the loss in the second regular-meeting showdown as the Jaguars struggled to shoot from the floor with a 25 percent field-goal percentage.

 

Augusta freshman Kiera Howard scored a team-high 11 points off the bench and added a pair of rebounds, blocks, and steals. Senior Kaela Patrick posted 10 points and senior Brianna Middleton grabbed eight rebounds and added six points for the Jaguars.

 

The Jaguar bench outscored the Braves 22-14, but UNCP had 52 rebounds to AU's 29 to overtake the game.

 

AU heads to Georgia College in Milledgeville, Ga., on Saturday, Feb. 16 for a 1:30 p.m. PBC tipoff.
