AUGUSTA, Ga. – The Augusta University women's basketball team faced off against the USC Aiken Pacers on Wednesday night and were outlasted 85-74 in a Peach Belt Conference overtime battle in Christenberry Fieldhouse. It was the third game this season for AU that went into overtime.
The PBC game moved Augusta to 4-21 overall and 3-18 in the league, while USC Aiken is now 7-20 and 4-17 in the PBC.
The Jaguars will celebrate 2018 Senior Day this Saturday, Feb. 24 during their Peach Belt Conference game against the Lander Bearcats. Augusta tips off at 1:30 p.m. for its final regular-season game in Christenberry Fieldhouse. The Jags will honor seniors from women's and men's basketball, cheerleading, and pep band in between the women's and men's game.

Augusta rookie Autumn Woodard was perfect in the first half, going 4-for-4 from the floor and 3-for-3 from the arc. Woodard had 14 points on the night, while senior Ashleigh Outler led the team with 20 and senior Jahmia Bradley 20 points. Junior Brianna Middleton scored 12 in the loss.
USCA led first in the contest and held it until Woodard hit a corner three pointer to give the Jags a 14-11 lead. Augusta led 17-14 at the end of the first and took the half up 37-30 after Woodard hit another three with under a minute.
The Pacers outscored the Jags 21-10 in the third period and led 51-47 heading into the final 10 minutes of play. The Jags trailed by two with under three minutes left, after Outler buried a three pointer. Down 67-65, Middleton hit a turnaround layup on the run to tie the game and a 5-0 Augusta run eventually gave them a 72-69 lead with under 25 seconds to go.
USCA hit a three pointer to tie the game at 72-all and force overtime. They outscored AU 13-2 in OT to win.
