Jags Set Military Appreciation Day Basketball Games For Jan. 20

AUGUSTA, Ga. – Augusta University Athletics hosts the annual Military Appreciation Day games on Saturday, Jan. 20 in Christenberry Fieldhouse for the men's and women's basketball doubleheader vs. Georgia Southwestern at 12:00 and 2:00 p.m.

The Jaguars host the GSW Canes for a Peach Belt Conference double feature. The Augusta women tipoff at 12:00 p.m. and the men follow at 2:00 p.m.

 

Augusta Athletics is proud to welcome soldiers from Fort Gordon military base who will fill the stands of Christenberry as we honor members of the United States Armed Forces for the annual event.

 

For the women's halftime performance, the Jaguars have welcomed back Burns Dance Studio out of Aiken, S.C., for a special routine on the gym floor! 

 

During halftime of the men's game, cadets will officially be inducted into the Army with a special swearing-in ceremony. Fort Gordon will also have a military Humvees and satellite vehicles on display at Christenberry Fieldhouse the day of the game.

 

Operation Teammate will also be on hand at the games. Operation Teammate is a children's focused organization with a multitude of avenues to welcome our nation's children whose parents are deployed in the armed forced or are away as first responders. Info here

 

All active duty, retired, and veteran military personnel are admitted into the games free of charge with a valid military ID or DD214 form.
