DAHLONEGA, Ga. – The Jaguars continued their road stint on Saturday afternoon at North Georgia and fell 96-55 in Peach Belt Conference action at Memorial Hall.
Augusta moved to 3-9 overall and 1-7 in the PBC, while North Georgia is now 12-2 on the year and 7-1 in the league. The game was the sixth straight win for the Nighthawks and the sixth straight loss for the Jaguars.
Senior Ashleigh Outler had double-digit points at halftime and finished with 18 points. Moneisha Goldsborough had 11 points with five boards and two blocks for AU.
The Jags recorded a 29.8 field-goal percentage (17-for-57), while shooting 70.8 percent (17-for-24) from the free-throw line and 36.4 percent (4-for-11) from beyond the arc. North Georgia was on fire from the floor in the first half and they ended the game shooting 59.4 percent from the field (38-of-54). They had an 80 percent free-throw percentage and a 26.7 three-point mark.
Sitting second in the PBC standings by one game behind Lander, North Georgia took the half on top 46-32 after shooting 63.3 percent from the floor in the first 20 minutes. The Nighthawks built a 41-point lead throughout the game and took down the Jaguars 96-55.
Augusta wraps up the road trip on Monday, Jan. 15 with a trip to Young Harris College in Young Harris, Ga., for a 1:30 p.m. Peach Belt Conference game.
