Green Reveals 2017-18 Augusta Women’s Basketball Schedule

AUGUSTA, Ga. – Augusta University head coach Millette Green announced the 2017-18 women's basketball schedule on Friday morning, which features 26 games and 13 home contests in Christenberry Fieldhouse.

The Augusta Jaguars start the season with two non-conference away games at Clark Atlanta (Nov. 17) and Benedict (Nov. 21). The 2017-18 home opener is set for Wednesday, Nov. 29 when the Jags take on Livingstone in Christenberry Fieldhouse for a 5:30 p.m. tipoff.

 

"I am pleased with the start of our preseason," Green said. "The players are excited about this upcoming season and it is evident in their commitment to improving daily. As a coach, you always want to coach a motivated group. I am excited to see the transition process throughout this upcoming season."

 

After opening Peach Belt Conference play on Dec. 2 at Georgia College in Milledgeville, Ga., Augusta welcomes Paine College (Dec. 9), Young Harris (Dec. 17), and North Georgia (Dec. 19) for three straight home matchups. The 2017 portion of the season wraps on Dec. 30 with a trip to Clayton State, before the 2018 slate begins with a trip to the beach in St. Augustine, Fla., to battle Flagler on Jan. 3.

 

Columbus State comes to Augusta for a Jan. 6 matchup, before Augusta plays three PBC road games in a row. The Jags host Francis Marion (Jan. 17) and Georgia Southwestern (Jan. 20) for back-to-back games in the 'Berry. After close trips to USC Aiken (Jan. 24) and Lander (Jan. 27), AU welcomes Flagler on Jan. 31 to close out the month of January.

 

Augusta hosts three consecutive Peach Belt games to open play in February when they meet UNC Pembroke (Feb. 7), Georgia College (Feb. 10), and Clayton State (Feb. 12). The squad plays their last regular-season road games with trips to Francis Marion (Feb. 14) and GSW (Feb. 17) and closes the regular-season slate by hosting USC Aiken (Feb. 21) and Lander (Feb. 24).

 

The Peach Belt Conference Tournament begins Feb. 28 with the quarterfinal matchup and continues March 3-4 with the PBC semifinal and championships game. See format here
