Women’s Basketball Picks Up Two More For 2017-18

AUGUSTA, Ga. – The Augusta University women's basketball team gained two more commits for the 2017-18 season in junior transfers Moneisha Goldsborough and Lauryn Smith.

Name: Lauryn Smith

Position: G

Year: Junior

Height: 5-4   

Hometown: Saint Paul, Minn.

Previous School: Iowa Lakes Community College  

 

Moneisha Goldsborough (Tifton, Ga.) is a junior transfer from Santa Fe College in Gainesville, Fla. She started seven of her 30 games played as a sophomore in 2016-17 and averaged 18.3 minutes per game. Goldsborough gave the Saints 6.2 points a game and 5.9 rebounds.

 

Goldsborough grew up in Tifton, Ga., and graduated from Tift County High School where she lettered in basketball for the Blue Devils.

 

Lauryn Smith (Saint Paul, Minn.) is a junior transfer from Iowa Lakes Community College in Estherville, Iowa. She averaged 12.1 points per game, 4.6 assists, and 4.3 rebounds per game for the Lakers as a sophomore in 2016-17. Smith was named second team All-Region for the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) in 2015-16 and she was named to the ICCAC Academic All-Region Team in both her freshman and sophomore seasons.

 

She graduated in 2015 from Johnson Senior High School located in Saint Paul, Minn., and was a three-time All-Conference selection, while scoring over 1,000 points to rank fifth in scoring all time at JSHS.
