Women’s Hoops Welcomes Sydney Grayden In Early Signing Period
AUGUSTA, Ga. – Augusta University women's head basketball coach Nate Teymer announced the singing of local product Sydney Grayden in the National Letter of Intent (NLI) signing period. Grayden will graduate from Greenbrier High School in Evans, Ga., and compete with the Jaguars in the 2017-18 season.

"Sydney is the type of student-athlete we are happy to have in our basketball family and the Augusta community," Teymer said. "I feel over the next four years it will be exciting to see her grow and mature into an outstanding player."

The team captain for Greenbrier her senior and junior seasons, Grayden set a school record for the most career blocks (170) and single-season blocks (62, 2.4 bpg). She helped guide the squad to back-to-back region championships during her tenure. Greenbrier reached the round of 16 in 2015 and made it to the Elite Eight in 2014.

In the 2015-16 season, Grayden was named first team All-Region and was invited to play in the GACA Junior North/South All-Star Game. She averaged 14 points per game, 13 rebounds, and 2.4 blocks per game as a junior. That same season she was a CSRA All-Star and named the best offensive player for Greenbrier.

Grayden will graduate in May 2017 from Greenbrier High School.
