Lady Jags Roll On The Road

ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. -- Augusta State extended its winning streak to four games Wednesday night with a 60-49 Peach Belt Conference road win over Flagler at Flagler Gym.

With the victory, the Lady Jaguars improved to 5-3 on the season and 2-0 in the PBC. The Saints dropped to 1-7 overall and 0-3 in the league, respectively.

Juniors Tiffany Jaecks and Brittany White paced ASU offensively with 10 points each. White notched five rebounds and five steals along with three assists. Laci Schreiber pulled down a game-high 12 rebounds, Ashley Vickers chipped in six points and seven boards while Eryka Menzies snagged four steals. Jaecks (one), Amber Peterson (two) and Jemimah Ashby (two) accounted for all five ASU 3-pointers.

Taye'Lor Trotter tallied a game-high 21 points but was the only Saint to reach double figures.

The Lady Jags jumped ahead early and after Vickers' layup at the 15:29 mark of the first half, they never trailed again. They led by as many as 11 in the first half and were up 29-24 at the half. ASU stretched its advantage to as much as 20 midway through the second half.

The Lady Jags owned the glass 50-38, including 19 offensive rebounds, and forced 22 Flagler turnovers

ASU returns to action on Monday, Dec. 19, traveling to Spartanburg, S.C., to take on Converse at 6:00 p.m.
