Jags Suffer Narrow Loss to Catawba in Season Opener

Augusta, GA. – The Augusta University softball team fell to the Catawba Indians in both games by a mere one-run margin. The Jags lost 5-6 in the first game of the double header and 8-9 in the second game of the series.

The matchup between Augusta (0-2) and Catawba (2-0) marks the season opener for both teams after last season was cut short due to COVID-19.

Next up, the Jaguars travel to Emmanuel (Ga) for a 1:00pm doubleheader on Sat. Feb 6th. Augusta was initially slated to play Wingate Sunday Jan. 31st, but the contest will be rescheduled due to inclement weather.
