Three Jaguars Named All-PBC

AUGUSTA, Ga. – The Peach Belt Conference announced three Augusta State softball players were named to the All-Conference squad Friday: Seniors Kacee Camp and Jessica Thornton to the first team, and Emily Headrick to the second.

 It marks the fourth time in as many years Thornton has been named to the first team, but the first time at the third base position. The three-time All-Region team selection hit .341 in the regular season, with a team-high six homers, 33 runs scored, and 34 RBI while stealing 26 bases in 29 attempts.

She ranked second in the PBC in steals, eighth in on-base percentage, ninth in walks, 10th in runs, 13th in RBI, and 14th in homers.

Camp, a second-team All-PBC selection last year and first-team pick in 2009 at shortstop, has ranked high in the Peach Belt across the board all season long. She batted .383, scoring 32 runs while knocking 12 doubles, three triples, and four homers. She also drove in 27 RBI and stole 11 bases.

She finished the regular season in the PBC top-15 in batting average, on-base percentage, slugging percentage, doubles, triples, hits, total bases, runs, and stolen bases.

Headrick earned her second All-PBC selection, and first as a Jaguar after notching a 16-5 record in 23 starts. She hurled 15 complete games, including five shutouts, and notched three saves – all with a 2.00 ERA, 109 strikeouts, and opponents hitting just .198 against her.

She ranked second in the Peach Belt in saves, fourth in shutouts, sixth in innings pitched and complete games, seventh in wins, and eighth in opponents' batting average and strikeouts.
