ASU Softball Fourth In Region Rankings

AUGUSTA, Ga. – Augusta State sits fourth in the first NCAA Southeast Region softball poll released by the NCAA Wednesday.

The top eight at the end of the season in each region typically advance to NCAA Regional play, barring conference tournament upsets and NCAA committee considerations. The rankings are a primary determining factor in determining at-large postseason bids.

The Jaguars are the third of seven Peach Belt Conference teams that appear throughout the poll. North Georgia sits atop the region rankings, followed by Armstrong Atlantic. USC Aiken (fifth), Flagler (sixth), Francis Marion (eighth), and Columbus State (ninth) were also ranked.

ASU hosts Flagler in a regional showdown Saturday, April 14 for Senior Day at Jaguar Field beginning at 12:00 p.m. The Jags host Armstrong Atlantic, who is ranked No. 6 nationally, on Sunday, April 15 with first pitch slated for 2:00 p.m.
