OAKWOOD, Ga. – With the regular season finished and the conference meet in the books, the Augusta University men's and women's cross country teams are set for the 2018 NCAA Southeast Regional on Saturday, Nov. 17. The men run a 10K at 9:00 a.m. and the women race a 6K at 10:15 a.m. on the campus of the University of North Georgia.

Ranked fourth in the region, the Jaguar men enter the regional race with five competitions already completed. The Augusta men haven't finished worse than third all season. They won the Jaguar XC Invitational Sept. 22 and dominated the regional-preview meet on Sept. 29 at the North Georgia Invitational. The men's team is fresh off a second-place showing at the Peach Belt Conference Championships, with AU sophomores Hunter Kimball, Jacob Poston, Chandler Kennedy and senior Noah Hulett earning All-PBC honors. Last season in 2017, Augusta advanced from the regional to the NCAA Championships for the second time in program history.

Augusta's women's squad is seated 10th in the current NCAA regional rankings and have also raced in five events thus far. AU has been top 10 all season, including three top-five finishes. A third-place showing at the Jaguar XC Invitational was the best finish so far. Last time out, the Jags took fifth at the PBC finals while junior McKenzie Knudsen and sophomore Micah Weathers were named All-Conference. AU is geared for its second race at the regional course, after placing sixth at the regional preview meet.

The top three teams from each regional meet automatically advance to the championship finals for a total of 24 teams. The top two individuals not on a qualifying team also advance for a total of 16. The NCAA Championships are Saturday, Dec, 1 in Slippery Rock, Pa.
