Augusta MXC Quartet Named Peach Belt All-Conference

AUGUSTA, Ga. – Augusta University men's cross country sophomores Hunter Kimball, Jacob Poston, Chandler Kennedy and senior Noah Hulett earned Peach Belt All-Conference status on Saturday morning for placing in the top 15 at the 2018 PBC Championships at Redcliffe Plantation in Beech Island, S.C.

 

The Jaguars were paced by Kimball who took third overall in 24:49.6. Augusta had three in the top five, with Poston posting the fourth-best finish in 24:57.9, Hulett fifth in 24:58.5, and Kennedy grabbed ninth with a time of 25:43.2. Augusta finished second overall and missed the conference title by four points. Kimball, Poston, and Hulett all earned the All-PBC honor for the second-straight season.

 

Ranked fourth in the NCAA Southeast Region, the Augusta men have finished top three in all four regular-season events this season, including back-to-back victories at the home meet Sept. 22 and at the North Georgia Invitational. The second-place showing was AU's third runner-up finish in school history at the PBC finals.

 

The NCAA Southeast Regionals take place on Saturday, Nov. 17 in Gainesville, Ga. hosted by the University of North Georgia.
