Augusta Takes Third To Start Season At Bulldog Invitational

ATHENS, Ga. – The Jaguars kicked off the 2018 cross country season with solid races all-around on Saturday morning in Athens, Ga. at the Bulldog Invitational. The men finished third overall, behind Georgia Tech and Georgia, respectfully.

 

Augusta's own, sophomore Jacob Poston, was the first division-II athlete to cross the line. He placed fifth overall, and completed the strenuous 7600 meter course in 24:34. AU sophomore Hunter Kimball and senior Noah Hulett finished second and third for the team, with Kimball placing 11th and Hulett 26th.

 

They were followed by newcoming Jaguars, freshmen Jacob Brenneman, Rakeem Littles, Hans Troyer, Kai Brickey, Chris Shelp, Josh Seiden, Ryan Gallagher, Anthony Urmetz, Dalton Ard, and Chris Strickland, who got their first taste of a collegiate race.

 

The Augusta University women's and men's cross country teams host the 2018 Jaguar Cross Country Invitational on Saturday, Sept. 15 at Redcliffe Plantation State Historic Site.
