Jags Cross Country Starts Season At UGA Sept. 8

ATHENS, Ga. – The Augusta University women's and men's cross country teams embark on the 2018 season this Saturday, Sept. 8 for the Bulldog Invitational, hosted by the University of Georgia, at the UGA Golf Course. The men will race a 7.6K at 8:30 a.m. and the women follow with a 5.5K at 9:15 a.m.

The races will be run on an approximate 1900m loop on the rolling terrain of the golf course. The men will complete four loops for a 7.6K and the women will complete three loops for 5.5K. Team scores will be computed by totaling the top five runners' finish positions.

 

The event is the first of four regular-season meets for the Jaguars. The Augusta men were picked to finish first in the Peach Belt Conference preseason coaches poll and are ranked third in the NCAA Southeast Region preseason rankings. The Jaguar women were voted runnerup in the PBC preseason poll and are seated sixth in the region.
