Unbeaten Jags Make Eighth Trip To NCAA Regional Nov. 4

WINGATE, N.C. – The Augusta University men's cross country team was unbeaten in the regular-season, most recently won the Peach Belt Conference Championships, and now they're set to make their eighth trip at the NCAA Southeast Regional on Saturday, Nov. 4 at Wingate University.

Wingate hosts the regional at their Wingate XC Facility for a women's 6K and a men's 10K.

"This has been a tremendous season so far," head coach Adam Ward said. "Our young team has consistently raced well beyond their years and have shown great maturity and poise. We have a big challenge ahead of us at regionals, but I think we are ready to give it our best and see what we can do."

Augusta is no stranger to Wingate's course, after finishing first out of 15 teams at the Wingate Bulldog Stampede Sept. 23. Jags junior Daniel Broadhead, who has won three races this season, dominated the last time at Wingate and blazed the course in 32:35.58 to place first in the 122-man competition. Freshman Hunter Kimball placed fifth for AU in 33:44.11, senior Dylan Forester delivered a time of 33:55.41 for sixth overall, freshman Jacob Potson carded seventh in 34:10.32, and senior Josh Thompson took eighth in 34:22.31. AU had six racers in the 20.

The Jaguars are coming off their fifth-consecutive victory of the season and are currently ranked No. 3 in the NCAA Southeast Region. They are receiving votes for the third-starting week on the national poll.
