Augusta MXC Receiving National Votes

AUGUSTA, Ga. – The Augusta University men's cross country team is receiving votes for the official NCAA National Coaches' Poll, released by the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) on Wednesday afternoon.

 

The Jaguars have been receiving votes in the last three polls, but gained 10 votes in the pre-championship list.

 

For the first time in four seasons, the Jaguars are back in the national championships. Augusta, ranked No. 6 in the NCAA Southeast Region, took third out of 23 teams at the NCAA regional meet on Nov. 4 to automatically qualify for the championship in Evansville, Ind., Nov. 18.

 

Augusta is making just its second national championship appearance and entered the regional race after winning the Peach Belt Championship - their fifth victory of the season.
