MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – The Augusta University men's cross country team has raced four meets this season and won every time. Ranked No. 3 in the NCAA Southeast Region, Augusta took first out of 13 teams on Friday night at the Bobcat Invitational hosted by Georgia College at The Farm.
Augusta had seven runners in the top 10 of individual leaderboard. Jags junior Daniel Broadhead won the individual title for the third race in a row, owning the 177-man field with a time of 25:10.5.
The Jags destroyed the team competition, taking first by 32 points. Host GC took second, Emmanuel third, Valdosta State fourth,
Senior Dylan Forester got third in 25:46.0, followed by a freshmen trio of Jaguars. Jacob Poston posted a time of 25:49.4 to take fourth, Hunter Kimball finished fifth in 25:57.6, and Merrick Rizzo got sixth in 26:07.5.
AU senior Josh Thompson came across the line in 26:29.2 for ninth place and Noah Hulett took 10th in 26:47.8. Freshman Daniel Gibson rounded out the Jags in 52nd with a time of 29:13.2.
This marked the final regular-season competition for the Jaguars. Augusta heads to the Peach Belt Conference Championships in Columbus, Ga., on Saturday, Oct. 21.
