WINGATE, N.C. – The Augusta University men's cross country team finished first out of 15 teams at the Wingate Bulldog Stampede on Saturday morning for their third straight win this season. Jags junior Daniel Broadhead took first place overall for the second consecutive race.

Coming off of two team victories to start the 2017 campaign and ranked third in the NCAA Southeast Region, Augusta dominated their third event of the season with five runners finishing in the top 10.
Broadhead blazed the course in 32:35.58 to place first in the 122-man competition. Freshman Hunter Kimball placed fifth for AU in 33:44.11, senior Dylan Forester delivered a time of 33:55.41 for sixth overall, freshman Jacob Potson carded seventh in 34:10.32, and senior Josh Thompson took eighth in 34:22.31.
Rookie Merrick Rizzo ran the 10K race in 34:47.30 for 17th place and junior Noah Hulett earned 28th in 35:26.45. Rounding was Augusta was junior David Perez-Santiago in 54th (37:18.54.) and freshman Daniel Gibson in 86th (39:50.55).
Augusta heads to the Georgia College Invitational on Friday, Oct. 6 in Milledgeville, Ga.
