Jaguars Take Third At Kennesaw State

KENNESAW, Ga. – The Augusta University men's outdoor track & field team finished in third place out of 12 teams on Saturday at the Don McGarey Invitational, hosted by Kennesaw State University, in Kennesaw, Ga.

 

Augusta finished one through five in the 5,000-meter race, with senior Noah Hulett winning the event in 15:21.57. Senior Dylan Forester earned second and freshmen Rakeem Littles, Anthony Urmetz, and Jacob Brenneman took the final top-five spots in order.

 

AU was represented well in the sprints competitions and freshman Xavier Allen gave the team a third-place finish in the 400-meter race in 49.68, while freshman Tremond Hatton earned 10th in 53.22. In the 100-meter race, AU sophomore Sean McCreary took 12th in 10.87 and freshman Jared Talman placed 19th in 11.35. Sophomore Joshua Hewing placed eighth in the 200 meter and McCreary earned 14th.

 

Hatton jumped to third place in the high jump with a leap of 1.53m and junior Tyrell Jacobs grabbed seventh in the long jump.

 

Sophomore Derrian Wright posted a time of 1:52.22 to take second in the 800 meter, while freshmen Kai Brickey and Justice Ogbe took sixth and seventh. AU sophomore Jacob Poston took third and Brickey fourth in the 1500 meter
