Track Jags Set For Peach Belt Championships April 19-21

PEMBROKE, N.C. – The Augusta University women's and men's outdoor track and field teams are headed to the postseason and compete in the 2018 Peach Belt Conference Championships April 19-21 in Pembroke, N.C. Hosted by the UNC Pembroke Braves at Dick & Lenore Taylor Track, the PBC Championships is a three-day event that begins at 9:00 a.m. each morning.

 

 

The Augusta women's team has competed in five regular-season meets heading into the PBC Championships. The Jags have posted four top-10 finishes and two top five showings – highlighted by their runner-up finish at the Savannah State Eye Opener Feb. 24. AU took fourth earlier this season at the Braves Classic, also hosted at UNCP. Last year, the Jags took sixth at the PBC finals and had four named All-Conference for finishing top three in their respective events.

The Jaguar men have three-top finishes and one four top 10s in their five meets so far this season. AU won the Victor Icebreaker Duals on March 3 in Rome, Ga., and followed it up with third at the Braves Classic on March 16-17, also at UNCP. At last season's PBC Championships, the Jags fought for fourth and had eight athletes named All-Conference.
