No. 28 Jags Notch Second At Cougar Classic

AUGUSTA, Ga.  – The Jaguars competed in their last scheduled team meet of the year on Saturday at the Cougar Classic, hosted by Columbus State University, and took second out of six teams.

The Jags have competed in six team meets in the regular season so far and they have finished in the top 10 in every single one. Columbus State won their home event. GRU took second, Tuskegee third, Clayton State fourth, SCAD Atlanta fifth, and West Georgia sixth.

GRU's Joseph Lozano won the pole vault out of three competitors with a leap of 3.35m. In the men's long jump, Sean-Michael Rand, Christian Collier, and Taylor Coxwell all placed in the top five with Rand taking first, Collier third and Coxwell fifth.

Coxwell and Collier also finished close in the javelin toss, as Coxwell earned fourth and Collier fifth.

In the high jump, Rand won the event in 2.05m, Collier won the 200m dash in 22.89, Dustin Ross blazed the 1500m run and won in 4:00.27 over 19 runners, and Nick Del Guercio and Boyd Guttery took first and second in the 5000m run.

For the men's 400m hurdles, Justin Harrison won in 56.04, while Coxwell took second in 57.56.
