Track Jags Release 2014 Agenda

AUGUSTA, Ga. – The Jaguar Outdoor Track & Field programs begin their seasons Saturday, Feb. 22 to embark on their second year as GRU Augusta's newest formed teams.

The Jaguars open the year in Augusta, Ga., at the Paine College Dual Meet, hosted by Paine College at Lucy C. Laney High School on Saturday, Feb. 22 at 12:00 p.m. Fans are encouraged to attend the local season-opener where the Jaguars and Lions will faceoff for a single day of events.

Both teams face their first road meet of the year to open March competition at the Columbus State Invite from March 1-2. GRU stays the road course and travels to Myrtle Beach, S.C., for back-to-back meets with the Coastal Carolina Chanticleers. The Coastal Carolina Invitational runs from March 14-15 and the CCU/Shamrock Invitational takes place from March 20-22.

GRU will send split rosters to two specialized meets on March 28-29. The Jags will send athletes to the N.C. State Raleigh Relays, hosted by N.C. State in Raleigh, N.C., and to the Emory Classic, hosted by Emory in Atlanta, Ga., where Jags will compete on Friday and Saturday.

April kicks off with the High Point University VertKlasse Meeting, hosted by High Point in High Point, N.C., on April 4-5. After the Furman Invitational single-day event on Apr. 12, GRU competes in the Peach Belt Conference Championships, hosted again by Shorter College in Rome, Ga., from Apr. 17-19.
