Jaguars Post Six Top-10 Places At Duke

DURHAM, N.C. – Augusta State competed on the Blue Devils' home turf at the Duke Invitational Friday and Saturday morning with a handful of Jaguars finishing at the top of the board amongst the Division-1 competition.

In the two day event the Jaguars were amongst 1,000 competing athletes from 50 different programs. Highlighting the women's day was ASU's Jordan Humphrey. Humphrey took third in the women's 5000m in 19:22.35. For the men, Matt Johnson took sixth in 15:59.52 in Section D of the men's 5000m and Shane Huckeba took 17th in 16:40.02. Adam Aldridge took 20th in 16:48.29 out of 27 competitors and in Section C of the 5000m; Preston Jones took 14th in 15:37.52.

Bryce Conway placed 26th in the men's 1500m developmental and in the 1500m finals, Dustin Ross raced as the lone Jaguar in a field of 40 to earn 15th place in 3:57.92. Ross was also the only ASU representative in the men's 800m, taking 19th in 1:55.14. Josh Stockton (9:22.06) and Andre Barnes (9:49.09) took ninth and 10th in the men's 3000m for ASU. Jaiden Brandt placed fourth out of 16 in the men's 10000m, finishing just ahead of Duke's Joey Elsakr.

Ashley Johnson jumped to 4.44m (0.8) in the women's long jump to take 22nd for the Jags. In the men's 400m, Levonta Reddick finished eighth out of 40 competitors in 48.90. ASU had two back-to-back finishes in the men's 3000m finals with Josh Stockton (9:22.06) and Andre Barnes (9:49.09) taking ninth and 10th.

This was the fifth competition for ASU on the season and the last event before the Peach Belt Conference Championships take place at Shorter in Rome, Ga., on April 19th.
