Augusta Tennis Releases 2019-20 Men’s Schedule

AUGUSTA, Ga. – Augusta University head tennis coach, Michael Mcgrath, unveiled the 2019-20 men's tennis schedule on Tuesday morning.

Beginning his 22nd season at the helm of the women's and men's tennis programs, McGrath booked three tournaments for the fall 2019 portion of the new slate. Augusta hosts the annual Border Battle, Sept. 13-15, at Newman Tennis Center – home of the Jaguars. AU heads to the Francis Marion Invitational in Florence, S.C., Sept. 21-22, before wrapping the fall at the ITA Regional in Sumter, S.C. Sept. 27-30.

 

The new season officially begins on Feb. 1 with a trip to Johnson C. Smith in Charlotte, N.C. Augusta competes the next day on Feb. 2 at Coker College in Hartsville, S.C., before heading to the 2020 City of Florence College Tennis Invitational, hosted by Francis Marion, Feb. 7-8, at Palmetto Tennis Center in Florence, S.C.

 

After road trips to Benedict (Feb. 11), Lander (Feb. 13), and Barton (Feb. 15), Augusta comes home for the first time of the 2020 season with four matches in a row at Newman Tennis Center. The Jaguars welcome Anderson on Feb. 18, Lincoln Memorial on March 1, Emmanuel on March 6, and North Georgia on March 9.

 

Augusta travels to North Carolina for visits to Belmont Abbey on March 11 in Belmont, N.C. and Lenoir Rhyne on March 13 in Hickory, N.C. The Jaguars return to Augusta for Peach Belt Conference matches with Young Harris (March 22) and Georgia College (March 24), before closing out the regular season at Francis Marion (March 28) and Columbus (March 31).

 

The PBC Tournament takes place April 23-26 at Francis Marion in Florence, S.C.
