Augusta Ascends To No. 38 In The Nation

TEMPE, Ariz. – The Augusta University men's tennis team climbed to No. 38 in the seventh edition of the Oracle/Intercollegiate Tennis Association Collegiate Division II National Team Rankings that were released on Wednesday afternoon from the ITA.

 

Augusta climbed into the national rankings on April 3rd and have stayed in the top 40 since. The Jaguars recorded a 9-8 overall record in the 2019 regular season and finished PBC play with a 3-6 mark. All eight men's tennis teams competing in the tournament are nationally ranked in the top 50 including No. 1 Columbus State, No. 5 Flagler, No. 6 USC Aiken, No. 7 Lander, No. 16 North Georgia, No. 22 Georgia College, No. 32 Francis Marion, and the No. 38 Augusta Jaguars.

 

The Jaguars earned the seventh seed in the 2019 Peach Belt Conference Tournament and will meet second-seeded USC Aiken in the quarterfinal match on Friday, April 19 at 9:00 a.m. in Florence, S.C.
