Jags Men’s Tennis Releases 2019 Schedule

AUGUSTA, Ga. – The Augusta University men's tennis team has announced its 2019 schedule. The season begins in February and includes 19 matches. Nine matches will be hosted by the Jaguars at Newman Tennis Center.

Head coach Michael McGrath kicks off his 21st season with AU on Friday, Feb. 1 with a non-conference match at Newman Tennis Center against Johnson C. Smith. The following day (Feb. 2) at 1:00 p.m. the Jaguars host another match at NTC, this time taking on Coker.

 

After a three-day trip to Florence, S.C. to play at the Francis Marion Tournament (Feb. 8-10), the team returns home for two noon matches against Auburn Montgomery (Feb. 17) and Belmont-Abbey (Feb. 19).

 

Peach Belt Conference matches begin on Feb. 22 for the Jaguars when they head to Milledgeville, Ga. to play Georgia College, before going to Dahlonega, Ga. to take on North Georgia Tuesday, Feb. 26. February will end with a 2:00 p.m. non-conference match at home against Anderson on Thursday, Feb. 28, before the Jags host Lander for a PBC match at 2:00 p.m. on March 1. Two days later, AU travels back to Milledgeville, Ga. on March 3 to play Lincoln Memorial in a neutral site match. Augusta makes their way to Aiken, S.C. to take on USC Aiken (March 6) and heads to Young Harris, Ga. to play against Young Harris (March 17).

 

The last three home matches of the season see the Jags welcome Francis Marion (March 23), Columbus State (March 30), and Georgia Southwestern (March 31) in conference contests.

 

The regular-season ends in St. Augustine, Fla. against Flagler before the Peach Belt Conference Tournament is held in Florence, S.C. April 19-21.
