Oliveira No. 2 In First NCAA Southeast Region Rankings Of 2017

TEMPE, Ariz. – The Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) released its first Division II men's tennis regional rankings in preparation for the 2018 season and Augusta University junior Patrick Oliveira is ranked No. 2 in the NCAA Southeast Region for singles competition.

 

 

From Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, Oliveira earned an All-American honor last season and was ranked as high as No. 12 in the nation and was No. 2 in the final region ranking. He was named first team Peach Belt All-Conference and PBC All-Academic, while compiling a 14-3 overall record at No. 1 singles to lead the Jaguars in wins and winning percentage. He finishes the season ranked No. 20 in the nation for singles play.

 

Oliveira ended the 2017 season on an 8-2 run at No. 1 singles and went 7-3 in PBC play. He helped the team earn a top 50 national ranking in November 2016. He is the first Jaguar to be named an All-American by the ITA since Bernardo Fernandes garnered the honor in 2012.

 

Oliveira most recently made it to the finals of the ITA Southeast Regional that was held at Palmetto Tennis Center in Sumter, S.C., Sept. 29 – Oct. 2.
