AUGUSTA, Ga. – Augusta University freshman men's tennis player Patrick Oliveira went 3-0 at both #1 singles and #1 doubles in three matches to earn Peach Belt Conference Player of the Week honors. The PBC announced the award Monday from the league offices.
The sophomore from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, is ranked #12 in the nation for singles and is #3 in the NCAA Southeast Region.
Patrick Oliveira dropped only nine games in total in his three singles win, taking straight sets against Benedict, Belmont Abbey and Emmanuel. Oliveira partnered with Odyr Cruz in all three matches in doubles, taking Benedict and Belmont Abbey 8-3 and Emmanuel 8-1.
Oliveira is now 5-0 for the 5-0 Jaguars, all of his matches at #1 singles. He is also 5-0 in doubles play this season.
