PBC Crowns ASU ‘Victors’

AUGUSTA, Ga. – Augusta State juniors Victor Cabellos and Victor Guimarares were named to the doubles second team for the Peach Belt Conference Men's Tennis All-Conference list, the PBC announced Thursday afternoon.

Playing as the No. 1 ASU doubles team for all 19 matches, Cabelos and Guimarares compiled a 12-7 regular-season record beginning with an 8-0 victory over Johnson C. Smith on Feb. 1. After Gardner-Webb edged the "'Victors' by two points in the second match of the season, they rallied off four wins in a row.

On March 12 the two beat Concord 8-0 for their second shutout of the season and commenced a 6-0 run to close out regular season play, ending in a 9-8 triumph over #27 Francis Marion on March 29.
