AUGUSTA, Ga.
– The No. 10 Columbus State men's tennis team defeated
Augusta State 5-1 in the first round of the Peach Belt
Conference Championships on Friday in Jonesboro, Ga.
The Jaguars dropped to 11-6 overall, while Clayton State improved
to 15-3 on the season.
ASU claimed one of the three
doubles matches, with Bernardo Fernandes/Henrique Boturao capturing
a win.
In singles play, the Cougars won three of the six matches to claim
the win while three matches failed to finish.
The ASU women's and men's tennis teams will now begin
preparations for the NCAA Southeast Regional, slated for May 7-
9.
