Columbus State Tops Jags, 5-0

COLUMBUS, Ga. – Tenth-ranked Columbus State jumped out to an early lead with three doubles victories and went on to a 5-0 win over No. 18 Augusta State in the second round of the NCAA Southeast Regional at Blackmon Tennis Center.

The victory lifted Columbus State to a 17-4 overall record, while the Jaguars' season came to a close at 14-7.

The match was the final appearance for ASU seniors Wu Ferraz and Luis Ramos.

Under head coach Michael McGrath, the Jags were making their seventh postseason appearance in the last 11 seasons.

The Cougars advanced to Saturday's championship match where they will take on the winner of Georgia College & State vs. Lander at 1:00 p.m.
