Jaguars Finish 13th at the Tavistock Collegiate Invitational

Windermere, Fla. – The Augusta University Men's Golf team ended the Tavistock Collegiate Invitation with a 13th place finish. The Jags shot a combined three day total of 885 (+21 over par). UCF claimed the top position for the event, finishing with a score of 842 (-22 under par). Their score was 16 strokes better than the second place finisher, LSU, who finished the tournament with a score of 858 (-6 under par). Vanderbilt managed a third place finish with their score of 863 (-1 under par).

The Jags were led by Alex van Wyk, who shot a 69 (-3 under par) in the final day of the tournament, the lowest round for any Jag golfer for the event. His three round total of 214 (-2 under par) was good enough to earn him a 14th place individual finish for the competition. Ben van Wyk also had a solid outing in Windermere, shooting a 219 (+3 over par) through three rounds, putting him just outside the top 25 for individual play in a tie for 26th. Gustav Andersson finished with a final tally of 225, while McCullough Pickens shot a 231. Jack Vajda finished the event just three strokes behind Pickens, as he closed out play for Augusta on the day.

Augusta will be back in action when they travel to Kiawah, S.C. for the Kiawah Classic at Turtle Point (hosted by Charleston Southern) from November 3-5.
