Jaguars Move up One Place at Tavistock Collegiate Invitational

Windermere, Fla. – The Augusta University Men's Golf team concluded the second day of the Tavistock Collegiate Invitational in 10th place. The Jags shot a total of 290 on the day, a three stroke improvement from the first round. In the field of 15 teams competing, host UCF remained atop the leaderboards, shooting -13 under par for the round and a combined -21 under for the event. Texas Tech and Vanderbilt lay claim to second place, both shooting -4 under over two days. Following just behind them are LSU and California, both with a -2 under par combined total.

Ben van Wyk remained the top Jaguar in competition finishing the second round with a score of 71 (-1 under par). His two day total of 141 (-3 under par) lands him in the top 20 for the tournament at 17th. Gustav Andersson had the best round of the tournament at this point, shooting -2 under par with a score of 70 on the day, a five stroke improvement for the first day. Alex van Wyk also improved his score from the first day, shooting an even 72 in the round. Both he, and Andresson, scored 145 (+1 over par) through two days, putting them in a tie for 24th overall. Other Jaguars in competition today include McCullough Pickens who shot a 153, and Jack Vajda who scored a 155 through two rounds. Pickens added three strokes to his game from the first day, while Vajda saw his game improve by five strokes.

The Jags will be back tomorrow when they continue with the final round on Day 3 of the Tavistock Collegiate Invitational.
