Jaguars Earn Sixth at Wolfpack Intercollegiate

Raleigh, N.C. – The Augusta Jaguars Men's Golf team ended the Wolfpack Intercollegiate (hosted by NC State) in sixth place after the final day of competition. The team shot an 863 over three rounds of play, good for -1 under par. NC State was crowned the champion of the tournament with a score of 842 (-22 under par) while Campbell finished in second at -18 under. Furman and UNC Greensborough finished tied for third at -11 under.

Individually, all five Jags earned top 50 finishes for the event. Ben van Wyk remained the top golfer for his squad as he shot an even par in the final round. His overall score of 212 (-3 under par) earned him a tie for 12th place. Hampus Wijlkstrom had a spectacular performance in the final round today, as he shot the lowest round of any Jag golfer at -3 under. His three round total of 218 was good enough to earn him a tie with fellow Jag, Gustav Andersson, for 26th overall. McCullogh Pickens and Victor Lindgren would also end up tied in the end at 47th, with scores of 223 respectively.

Augusta looks to follow up their top finish of the year at the Tavistock Collegiate Invitational (hosted by Central Florida) in Bradenton Fla. from Sunday, October 20th to Tuesday, October 22nd.
