JERSEY CITY, N.J. – Former Augusta Jaguar Patrick Reed won The Northern Trust at Liberty National Golf Club on Sunday afternoon to claim his seventh PGA Tour victory and his first since the 2018 Masters.

Reed entered the fourth and final round with the lead and finished with a 2-under 69 for a total of 16-under 268 through 72 holes. He won the first FedExCup playoff event for the second time in the last four years. Reed held off the field by one stroke and bested Abraham Ancer (-15), Jon Rahm (-14), Harold Varner III (-14), Adam Scott (-13), Jordan Spieth (-12), and Rory McIlroy (-12) who were all lurking on Sunday.

After starting with a slew of bogeys over his opening six holes, Reed regained himself on the turn and produced a bogey-free back nine to win his first title of 2019 and his fourth top-10 finish of the year. He earned 2000 FedExCup points with his win and moved from 50 to No. 2 in the points race.

The top 70 players in the FedExCup standings – including the winners of all four of this year's major championships – are scheduled to play in the 2019 BMW Championship, held Aug. 13-18 at Medinah Country Club in Medinah, Illinois.

Reed played for the Augusta Jaguars for the 2009-10 and 2010-11 seasons and led the team to back-to-back National Championships, while earning two first team All-American selections along the way.
