Jack Vajda Joins Jags In NLI Signing Period

AUGUSTA, Ga. – Augusta University men's head golf coach Jack O'Keefe announced that incoming freshman Jack Vajda from Canton, Ga., signed with Jaguars in the National Letter of Intent (NLI) early signing period. Vajda will join the team and the university in Fall 2019.

Hometown / Previous School: Canton, Ga. / Creekview High School

 

Vajda was born in Atlanta, Ga., and attended Creekview High School in Canton, Ga. He lettered in golf for all four years, lettered in basketball as well, and plans to graduate in Spring 2019. He will pursue a degree in business management from Augusta University.

 

"Jack is a tall, athletic guy with a lot of power and an amazing touch around the greens," O'Keefe said. He will be able to come in right away and make an immediate impact on our team. He had a great summer in qualifying for the U.S. Junior Amateur at Baltusrol and also contended in the Georgia State Junior Golf Championship this summer. Jack also excels in the classroom and will be a strong student athlete."

 

Vajda won the individual state championship for his high school team last spring and looks to repeat this year along with adding a state high school team championship as well.

  • Won Individual titles on the Southeastern Junior Golf Tour, Hurricane Junior Golf Tour, Georgia Junior PGA, and the Atlanta Junior Golf
  • Nationally Ranked 237 in country
  • Low as 9th in the State of Georgia Class of 2019
