Maverick Antcliff Cards Three Early Wins On China Tour

BEIJING, China – Former Augusta men's golf standout, Maverick Antcliff, has won three of six events this season on the China Tour and continues to climb the world rankings.

 

A starter for the Jaguars from 2012 to 2016, Antcliff turned professional following his senior season in 2015-16 and competed in the Australian PGA Tour and the PGA Tour China. This year on the China Tour, Antcliff won the Bo Ao Open in Bo'ao, China on April 21, the Shenzhou Peninsula Open in Wanning, China on April 28, and the Beijing Open in Beijing, China, on June 30. He finished third, ninth, and tied for 17th in the three other events thus far on the tour.

 

In his last victory at the Beijing Open, Antcliff finished 15-under-par with a 69, 65, 72, and 67 to win the tournament by four shots. He was tied for 32nd after day one, but ascended the leaderboard with a total of 22 birdies and an eagle after four rounds.

 

The China Tour has six more scheduled events this season and concludes in November. The annual prize winner of the China Tour qualifies for the European Tour. The 2019 China Tour was the second season of the China Tour to carry official world golf ranking points.

 

The China Golf Association, abbreviated as "CGA", is a group member of the All-China Sports Federation, is recognized as the national sports association by the Chinese Olympic Committee, is only legal organization to participate the events and activities of International Golf Federation in China, is also a member of International Golf Federation (IGF) and Asia Pacific Golf Association (APGC).
