SAVANNAH, Ga. – The Augusta University men's golf team won its sixth tournament under head coach Jack O'Keefe on Tuesday at the Savannah State Fall Tiger Invitational. The Jaguars finished 13-under par to win the tournament by 59 strokes at Crosswinds Golf Club. Augusta freshman Alex Shead outlasted senior teammate Broc Everett on the fourth playoff hole to win the individual title.

The two-day, 54-hole tournament featured all seven men's golf teams from the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC). An associate member of the MEAC, Augusta won at Crosswinds Golf Club for the fourth time in the three years, after winning the MEAC Championship tournament three years in a row.

Teams played 36 holes on Monday morning and Augusta shot 283 (-5) and 275 (-13) to break away from the pack. Playing the final round in a shotgun format on Halloween, Augusta fired a 293 and had four in the top five to earn All-Tournament honors. All five starting Jaguars carded their lowest rounds and lowest finishes of the season this week.

Augusta Senior Broc Everett and freshman Alex Shead were tied after 54 holes of regulation and went into a playoff. After each making par on the first three holes, Shead signed for a birdie on No. 4 for his first collegiate win.

Shead and Everett finished 5-under par, North Carolina Central's Zane Lewis was third (-4), AU freshman Laken Hinton took fourth (-1), Gustav Andersson fifth (E), and Olof Gunnarsson sixth (+1).

Augusta ends the fall season Nov. 3-4 at The Battle at Stono Ferry, hosted by the College of Charleston, at The Links at Stono Ferry in Hollywood, S.C.
