WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – The Augusta University men's golf team completed first round play at the NCAA Regional in West Lafayette, Ind., on Monday and the Jaguars are in ninth place after shooting an 8-over 296 at the Kampen Course.

THIRD ROUND (Wednesday): Tee times start at 7:30 a.m. ET
The 13-team field has eight teams ranked in the top 50 and four in the top 25 – highlighted by No. 5 Florida and No. 8 Illinois. No. 17 UNLV led round one with a 1-under 287 on the par-72, 7,411-yard course to take first place. Illinois and New Mexico are tied for second at even par, South Carolina is fourth (+3) and Florida, Auburn, and host Purdue are tied for fifth (+4). The low five teams and the low individual not on those teams from each regional will advance to the finals.
No. 52 nationally-ranked Augusta started on the front nine and was represented by junior Broc Everett, senior trio Emmanuel Kountakis, Jake Marriott, Viktor Edin, and freshman Gustav Andersson. The Jaguars danced around the top five all day and are four shots out of fifth place.
Edin shot an even-par 72 with a pair of birdies on the front and back nine to lead Augusta and sit in a tie for 14th overall. Kountakis and Marriott managed a 73 (+1) in round one and share a tie for 24th. Marriott had four birdies and was 1-under par heading to the back nine, but picked a few strokes in the final holes.
Everett is 6-over par in 60th after posting a 78 (+6) and Andersson holds onto a tie for 68th (+8) with 36 holes still to play.
Round two tee times begin at 8:00 a.m. ET to continue to the tournament.
